• · I currently teach English conversation to students of all majors. I create lesson plans, syllabuses, and utilize multimedia in the classroom to do various activities during class. These activities include listening exercises, watching videos, and showing powerpoint presentations to the class. In addition, the classes consist of conversation practice, lecturing, and group work. I evaluate the students based on participation, quizzes, group presentations, and a final exam. I encourage respect, open discussion, and teamwork in my classroom. I find that it fosters learning in a more relaxed environment. Other responsibilities include: assisting students outside normal class hours, grading quizzes, exams, and other assignments.

Responsible for creating resources and planning lessons for the science department.

Manager of the school’s planetarium, an educational resource in which immersive shows are to teach different aspects of the curriculum in various subject areas. Liaised with teachers and other associated organisations to ensure the most effective use of the planetarium. Created and sourced resources for the planetarium, and presented shows to pupils on a regular basis.

September 2008 – August 2010 – Secondary Science Teacher, Aston Manor School

Lead pupils through the newly introduced BTEC science course. Involved planning lessons and creating most of the resources for the course, as well as instilling aspiration and vision in pupils within a challenging classroom situation. 100% of my pupils passed the course with 50% gaining merits (all pupils had been predicted to achieve far less than this before starting the new course.)
